11 May Stevens a GIS Specialist at Marshall Space Flight Center Prepares and Responds

Huntsville, Alabama

Stevens is a GIS Specialist in the Marshall Space Flight Center environmental engineering department and has been with All Point for three and a half years, although he has had this current position for more than 25 years with different contracts and employers.

Stevens’ work incorporates geotechnical environmental mapping, analytic data management, geologic mapping, cross-section generation, hydrogeologic analysis, GIS, 3D geologic modeling, geotechnical database design, data management and database access/reporting.

ACCOMPLISHED SERIAL VOLUNTEER

The MSFC-Exchange email detailed Steven’s relief efforts following an EF-2 tornado t tore through parts of Boaz, Alabama on Easter Sunday.

Stevens and his fellow PAR volunteers from Huntsville responded to Boaz where the tornado had peak winds of 132 mph and cause severe damage to more than 50 homes in the area.

“We cut fallen trees at residences and moved debris to the roadside for county pickup,” said Stevens.

A serial volunteer, Stevens also volunteers with CASA of Madison County, Alabama, which focuses on meeting the needs of the homebound, primarily the elderly. The organization provides food, doctor trips, home visits, grab bars, and wheelchair ramps.

“I’m on their wheelchair ramp team,” said Stevens. “I lead wheelchair ramp builds, sketches, repairs and warehouse prefabrication sessions.

“NASA has an annual Combined Federal Campaign where civil servants can donate money or time to charities. I have used this CFC opportunity to lead NASA MSFC teams on several ramp builds each fall for the last eight years. These CFC/CASA teams have allowed me to work with my MSFC customer and senior management.”

Stevens was recognized in February for his outstanding and ongoing volunteer work with a “Capturing It Now Award.”

“I have a passion for volunteer work,” said Stevens. “We all have been blessed in many ways. By giving back it is an opportunity to touch others’ live…and I challenge others to reach out and do the same.”

In addition to offices in Huntsville, All Points operates offices in Merritt Island, Florida; Reston, Virginia; and Houston, Texas. The company’s offices in Huntsville are located in the Cummings Research Park, one of the world’s leading science and technology business parks, and recently underwent a 12,000 square-foot expansion, which was necessitated by All Points’ explosive growth.
